Okay, so I know the point of the K House is it's open, light and airy feeling, and covering the windows/walls with dark grey wallpaper is kinda crazy, but after 4 hours of cutting and folding craft paper, I'm loving it. I don't think the photos do it justice. My husband is going to laugh, but I think I'm actually going to have to read my camera's owners manual to learn to take better photos (who am I kidding, my husband doesn't read this).
I was inspired by this photo of Graham & Brown's Gradient Purple Wallpaper. The craft paper is cut to size and folded to hold it in place. The fireplace paper is taped together but there is nothing adhering to the house so it can be easily removed. Here are some shots from around the room.
The black dining room table top was in the scrap bin at TAP Plastics for a few dollars, I had them cut down a clear cylinder tube and glued that on as the base.
Yea or Ney? I'd love to know what you think.

Looks AWESOME! I am all for the scrapbook paper, and this comes off so well. I love the fireplace insert too. WELL DONE! I hope you will be posting to the K House group in Flickr...!
Queda muy bonita la chimenea con el papel de rayas. Le da un toque muy chulo al salon.
Besujis!!!
This is one of the most sophisticated mini scenes I've ever seen; great job!
I love the wallpapers, and especially the ones on and in the fireplace! I once saw the K House in Paris and I loved it, although I didn't think it looked very realistic with all that glass, but you have turned the K House into a real home! Except that there isn't many real homes out there as cool as this :-)
your latest version for the KH is great and design wise much more updated. You created a totaly new place. I wouldn't have guesses this is the good old KH!
Neomi
Callsmall - I promise I will add all of K House photos to the Flickr page. It's on my to do list, which means eventually. :)
Virginia Isabel - Thanks! I think the striped pattern really makes the fireplace pop. Your work is really cool.
Carunzel - You are too kind. Thank you.
Pubdoll - My thoughts exactly. My one design problem with the all of the glass is there is little space to hang artwork on the walls. Which is next on my list. I also have accessories to add, when I finish painting them. I'm working on a sideboard as well. So much to do. :)
Neomi - Thanks. I really have to than Graham & Brown for the design idea. I wouldn't have thought of it on my own.
OMG it is the best. K house pictures have great lines and mix with the best modern furniture but the pastel colors overshadow ( and I mean that literally) the great design. Wow you have liberated it from being a child's toy to something totally new! It looks like a design magazine shot. Come do my 1:1 house!CM
It looks fantastic -- modern, sophisticated and like a room that could be in an actual house!! Who lives in a house with all the KH glass? Glad to know that the local Tap Plastics and the scrapbook section of the craft store can yield such great materials. If only I were as creative. Thanks for sharing.
Oh I'm so sorry that again my comment doesn't exist here. Where are all my comments gone???
Okay, I'll try again: I love this version more than the original House with for me (too much colour). You did a great job, I enjoy it very much to look at.
Flippin' sweet!
CM - I am completely flattered. Thank you! So true about the pastel colors. They also make it hard to photograph as well. What's your address? I'll be right over with double sided tape and craft paper, if it took me 4 hours to do this in 1:12, I'm guessing 48 hours in 1:1? :P
mini2b - Thanks! I too am struggling with the creative streak, I just try to find a photo of something I really like and run with it.
Oese! I'm SO sorry your comments go missing. I have it set to auto publish the comments after typing the authentication code. I'm not sure why this keeps happening to you. I'm sorry! I agree the KHouse is sometimes too colorful. It makes it hard to decorate at times. I'm glad you enjoy it.
petitenouveau - Rock on! Glad you like it.
The house looks incredible. I love it! I agree with some of the comments above that it looks way better this way. Your color choices are great!!
Susan
This is truly, truly stunning! It takes the K-house to a new level of realism.
shale - Thank you so much. I love the apple green color and this was the only stripe pattern with green. The grey just really makes it pop. Once I have the house finished, I'll set it up outside so I can get some good light and get more true to color photos.
studioseven - Thanks! I love the comparisons you did of Modern MC and Shopping Sherpa's K House rooms on Flickr. Hard not to love those works of art.
Greetings! How is baby?
I think I joined you blog twice...there's a word for me but Sarah Palin won't let me say it. Do you have any ides how to remove one. Thanks! C :(
Love what you've done with the K house: very bold, to throw wallpaper at a clear house! I'm the previous owner, and miss it once in a while, but now I see it's truly in good hands.
Lovely! It looks great! I really like the look. Also, love your blog. I sent you an e-mail with my latest dollhouse I completed...hope that was not too forward of me!
Melissa
Oops! E-mail didn't work.

Hey CM - the not so little one is sleeping better, but work is now kicking my butt. I'm sorry, I couldn't find anything on this end to remove one for you.
BiddingAdieu - so glad you like it. Please visit anytime and I'll try to make sure the new tenants don't trash the place.
Melissa - I would love to see your dollhouse. Please try to email me again at modernminifan@gmail.com I'll try to see if the link isn't working properly in my profile.
I love this! Spotted the wallpapered fireplace in your profile pic and did a double take - is that the Kaleidoscope House?!
I've wallpapered the smaller rooms, but it never occurred to me to try it with the clear walls in the main room.
It looks fanTAStic!
