Double Take

Wow. Its taking me long enough just to build one kit, let alone two?!? I can only imagine how many hours it took to build this 3 1/2 story house from two Lake View kits from Dolls House Emporium. Well if you live driving distance from Menstrie, Clackmannanshire, United Kingdom, this one of a kind house could be yours for £350.00 (auction starts at £300.00) on eBay UK.

The built house is cheaper than if you bought both kits, the £140 Bespaq fitted kitchen from Maple Street, the "wrought iron" staircases and wall cupboards in the garage.

CM - working for peanuts at the price they are letting this go for. Hopefully whomever buys it appreciates all of the work that went into it.

Hey Mo, gorgeous indeed! :)

Dale - I love how it opens too. I am a huge fan of enclosed houses to keep out the dust. I have a hard enough time dusting my real house let alone my minis.

I built this house in 2010 for my wife but she then decided she didn't like modern! She had bought a kit and I built the other wing using the kit as a template. I decided on a garage to keep her two American Chopper bikes - she kept them and sold the house. I used to make houses as a business so I used that experience to build the extension using a router and bandsaw. If I had been making this to sell it would have cost a lot more but as it is it went cheap but the lady who bought it was delighted. If I had made this as part of a business it would have cost an awful lot more. The Bespaq kitchen has been modified and a nice "marble" worktop glued in place. It had originally been made for a lady who specified the size to fit her kitchen and then changed her mind so it lay in a cupboard for a couple of years and then I used it here. The staircase is courtesy of Maple Street dollshouse shop. This house, fully electrified took me around three weeks to make and decorate as it was so fiddly.

Kenneth!

Thank you so much for your comment. I can't believe it only took you 3 weeks to make this beautiful house. Well done!! I'm sorry it didn't fetch a better price for you, but it's wonderful that it went to someone who really loves it. You are a TERRIFIC husband for building this for your wife. I think we all wish we had spouse so talented! Thanks for sharing more details on the house.

I've not seen this trick done in years, taking two dollhouses and building one in reverse. I don't know why more people don't do this.

Oh wow, I adore this house. I would love to find someone in the UK who could recreate this building for me as original Lake View is too small for my miniature interior dreams.
