Dollhouse for your dollhouse

Oese and CallSmall are to thank for turning me on to N scale railroad model miniature dollhouses. The yellow house is Bachmann N Scale Contemporary House - I paid $13.99 on ebay, but I saw it online at hobbylinc.com for $9.49. The green house (pictured front and back) is a Herpa two story flat - I paid around $7 on ebay, there is a set of three similar white ones on ebay now, I haven't seen these online. Lastly, Kato Structures 7410 N. Clarmont House #23-405, I paid $18.50 on ebay, but it is online at katousa.com for $22.50.

Here are some great pictures from their blogs that got me interested. The collection of houses on the shelf are from Call of the small. The two interior shots are from Raum für Raum.

Here are some others on ebay that I almost bid on. Green set of 2 Vollmer N Scale Model Apartment Buildings, sold for $22 (love these). The High Rise building and Kato N Prof Building/Mama's Seafood KAT23406 are still up on ebay.

Thank you Altera!

Yes, I have been offline for awhile, but I cried when I saw Altera's post from June on the availability of Kaleidoscope sets on eBay again. It seemed like all of the Jasper Morrison white sofas were gone, but low and behold one popped back up and now I finally have my Bozart Kaleidoscope White Living Room. THANK YOU ALTERA!!!! I've been trying to win this set since the month I started this blog, but had given up recently. Happy days, oh happy days!

Mighty World Obsession

I have admired the use of "Mighty World" accessories in Modern MC's designs on MiniModern.blogspot.com. I easily bought the Town Cafe, but had to hunt down Baking Time and Philippe the Chef in the UK and am waiting for a third party to ship them to the US for me.

I'm dying to see how these will look in the new kitchen I'm designing. The scale is smaller than 1:12, but the accessories work well.

(Apologies for the lack of posts. I'm back at work full-time, so between the family and work, this has taken a back burner. The remodel is still a work in progress; I'm trying to find a solution to reinforce the new roof design. Photos to come.)

The House My Mom Built - BEFORE

My mom built this house from a kit for me over a 3 year period. Here are the before images before I started to restore it. Sadly, I didn't take the best pictures before I started demo work. I'll have to take better pictures of the restoration process.

New Kitchen

So for $40 I opted for this kitchen island from The Dolls House Emporium. Depending on how this fits in the kitchen that I have yet to build, I might buy the room divider pictured below. That will be fun to find accessories for.

Just my luck. This kitchen island went on sale at The Dolls House Emporium for only $29 in their January sale! Guess I'll have to start shopping the sale racks to start with.

Vintage 50-60's furniture

I found this vintage 50-60's living room furniture set on eBay and they arrived today. I LOVE the couch and chairs, although I will have to reupholster the green couch and probably the blue satin chairs. Undoubtedly more effort than it will be worth but somewhere I'll find a home for these.

More chairs

Dollhouse Miniature Designer Chair Le Corbusier: Chaise Longue & Double Grand Couch

I think I have enough chairs for now, considering I have no place to put them. I found these at eTraders place. I'll have to wait for them to arrive from Singapore again, but now I have the couch to match my chair.

Designer Chairs Vol. 1

My designer chairs arrived today from Singapore after ordering them 8 days ago. I'm still waiting on books I ordered on Amazon before that. At this point you'd think I'm only collecting chairs.

You can find these on Reacjapan.com but I bought them through eTradersplace.com.

The Le Corbusier design is what sold me on the lot.

Dream master suite

I saw these chairs on MiniModern's blog and bought them from West Elm, unfortunately before they went on sale for $6. This green room is my inspiration for the master suite I'll build to use the chairs in. I'm planning on making a matching headboard similar to this. All of course after I build the house.

Updated 1/8/08
These chairs are 2.5" x 2" x 4" making them roughly 1:9 scale. D'oh!
Thanks anonymous for your comments! They are also $3.99 now for anyone needing closer to Barbie size furniture. Again, Barbie gets all the cool modern stuff.
